American Baseball League

About the ABL Game

The American Baseball League is a tabletop baseball league that is spreadout throughout the country. The ABL uses a simplified version of the Triple Play Baseball Board Game System. This league was created to achieve the utmost satisfaction of managing and owning a baseball team.

Games are played face to face and using a dice roller on-line.

The ABL is looking to expand and bring new managers into the League. If you love baseball and have a computer to communicate. Maybe the ABL is right for you. Contact the Commish for an Expansion Team Application.

Is the ABL like a fantasy or rotisserie league?

Only superficially. Both rotisserie leagues and fantasy league have teams made up of drafted major league players, but the similarity ends there. While fantasy league teams compete passively by watching and comparing real-life player performances, managers in simulation leagues like ABL not only put together their own rosters but also actually manage their teams' one batter at a time. We think simulation managing is infinitely more interesting than fantasy baseball because of the added dimensions of field managing and continuous player ownership. In addition, TPB and most of the competing baseball simulations incorporate many more details of player performance, such as fielding, ability to reach base, and many others, compared to the typical eight categories in fantasy baseball. The only thing missing from the ABL game is the smell of hotdogs, beer and peanuts.
