Cross My Heart is an amazing specialty shop in Wallace, a tiny community, half-way between Cohocton and Avoca, nestled in the Finger Lakes Region of New York.

Inside Cross My Heart you will find a wonderful collection of lovingly handmade items, including but not limited to: birdhouses, spindle angels, and americana.
Inside Cross My Heart you will also find Diane Rivers the owner of the shop and the creator of almost everything on display.
Most of the birdhouses are made for outdoor use with a cleanout door. Or, if you prefer, you can put them on shelves for display.
When people come into the store and say, "I want a birdhouse", Diane will ask, What kind of bird are you looking to attract?"
Diane is a true bird lover and she has learned a lot about them since taking up birdhouse building. Most of our common North Eastern birds will room in a 4x4 inch to 6x6 inch house and use a 1½ inch hole.

Diane always has at least 100 different birdhouses on display. As you can see, if you check out her birdhouse page, there are lots and lots of choices. Each birdhouse is unique. If you can't find one to suit you, Diane will design one to your specifications.
Diane is creativity in action. There is a feeling about her work and about her store that makes you want to linger. If you are lucky, you may even catch her working on her next masterpiece in the shop in the back room of the store.

Occasionally you will see Diane's husband, Doug, in the shop, but even if he isn't there when you stop by, you can feel his presence. He is Diane's biggest fan and main supporter. He is always encouraging her to "spread her wings" and take on new challenges.
Doug has a lot to do with Diane's cheerfulness and smiling face. He also does most of the heavy work, Doug and Diane Rivers truly seem to be a match made in heaven to do good things together on earth.
To the right you will see one of the little nooks and crannies and a clock birdhouse.
Diane's friends say that she is one of a kind with a very big heart. Unique is the word to describe both her and her shop.
Come and see all the beautiful crafts, jewelry, birdhouses, angels and americana. Diane takes wood, vines, flowers and beads to develop the most unusual and interesting pieces of art.
This past year Diane's business has grown.  Her best customers come back again and again, and are always looking forward to giving items from the the shop as unique gifts, especially at Christmas time.
Diane even has customers coming from as far away as Texas, Mississippi, and Georgia to visit the shop and purchase something out of the ordinary for themslves or as unique gifts for friends and family.
Fall is a particularly good time to visit Wallace, the Finger Lakes, and Cross My Heart. The sights are spectacular and you can always find something special.

Finding your way to Wallace and
Cross My Heart.
Take I-390 to either the Avoca or the Cohocton exit and take State Route 415,
north if coming from Avoca or south if coming
from Cohocton.

While in the area, be sure to stop in at
Healing Spirits Herb Farm and Education Center, just down the road a piece heading towards Cohocton.

Also be sure to visit the many other attractions in the Finger Lakes Region Including the Wineries.
