SAFETY RULES & PROCEDURES
PURPOSE:
To insure that the T. C. R/C members, families and guests may safely enjoy
the use of our club flying field, without compromising the privacy and safety
of our neighbors. The willful
violation of these rules will result in the suspension of flying privileges at
the field.
Safety:
1- All fliers will
obey the official U. M. A. safety code.
1A- There will be no pattern plane practice or flying at the field at any
time due to close proximity of neighbors.
2-No transmitter shall be turned on unless the proper freq. pin is
attached to the ant, or your current U. M. A. card is in the flying spot if this system
is in use.
3-The transmitter impound shall be used upon the request of one flyer.
4-All transmitter antennas in the pit area and impound not having a card
or pin in place in the flying position must be retracted.
5-Please for their safety, no children allowed in the pit area.
6-R/C flying is not allowed over the following restricted areas; the
pits, parking lot, any neighboring houses or roads. (NO EXCEPTIONS!)
7-Make certain the runway is clear before starting to take off or land.
8-Announce your intent to your fellow fliers before going out on the
runway.
9-Announce your intent to land, verbal warning should also be given to
fellow fliers if a dead stick landing is eminent!
10 - Announce when you experience radio or flying problems and don't
hesitate to ask for help if you need it!
11- Taxiing within the pit area is prohibited. Aircraft should be carried or wheeled to the flying area under
the control of the pilot or helper.
12-All aircraft shall be equipped with a proper spinner or a rounded nut
before flying.
13-Flyers shall warn bystanders not to stand in line with rotating props.
14-Do not fly in any manner that could be hazardous to anyone at the
field.
15-Avoid low altitude passes and close in aerobatics when the field is
congested, e.g. Sunday afternoons.
16-A maximum of four aircraft under power is allowed to be airborne at
one time.
17-Members are responsible for the safety of children and guests they
bring to the field.
18-If you see a safety rule violation, do the person a favor and mention
it to him, as it could prevent a serious injury to him or others.
19- No member or guest will be allowed to fly as an instructor, (By
handing the transmitter back and forth, or on the Buddy cord) with any new
pilot, or guest, until he has been approved as an instructor by a majority of
the board, including the safety officer.

FIELD RULES & PROCEDURES
ELIGIBILITY:
Flying at the T. C. R/C field is
the right of regular and associate members in good standing, Visitors and/or
guests must have a current U. M. A. membership (As is required of regular and temp.
members) before flying.
FREQUENCY CONTROL:
1- Only one flier in each freq. group if
field is congested.
2- All transmitters shall display the proper
freq. channel number on its antenna.
3- No transmitter shall be turned on unless
proper pin is attached to the antenna or membership /U. M. A. card is in fly
position if card system is in use.
4- No transmitter may be turned on in the
pits or flying area unless the proper pin is attached to the antenna or
membership card is in flying position.
5- All
idle transmitters in pit area must have their antennas retracted.
6- Your
frequency pin or card should be promptly returned to the proper position after
you complete each flight unless
no one else is waiting for that channel.
7- Please be considerate of your fellow
flier if you are flying gliders and not hold the pin for more than twenty
minutes.
GENERAL:
1- There shall be no aircraft engine running
before 10:00 A.M. week days.. 12:00 noon Sun. or after 9:00 P.M. any day.
2- Adequate mufflers
must be used on all engines above .051 cu.
3- Please watch your prop wash and direct it
away from spectators, other fliers and their equipment.
4- Prolonged engine test running and /or
break in shall be conducted at the far S. East end of the field. Better yet try and get it done before you
get to the field. You must know of an
isolated place somewhere that it will not bother anyone.
5- Tractor or related equipment should not
be operated without another adult present.
6- Please don't litter, take it home with
you.
7- Please be courteous to guests and
spectators, answer questions, promote modeling and our club.
8. If you are last to leave be sure
everything is secure and locked up before leaving.
9- PLEASE, for your own safety, it is strongly recommended that YOU DO NOT FLY ALONE
AT THE FIELD!
