Nupix, LLC  -  The Company

  Nupix is a start up company whose goal is to develop and market fiber-based flat panel displays.   The company was formed March 2000 as a renaming of Moore Vision, formed August 1998.  Over the past 5 years the founder of Nupix, Chad Moore, President has generated an extensive patent portfolio around the fiber-based display technology.  Thus far over 20 patents have been filled around the fiber-based display technology, of which 11 have been granted, and several more are in the works.

  The fiber-based display technology will revolutionize the large flat panel display industry and Nupix, with its patent position and display knowledge, is positioned to lead this revolution.  The key advantage of the fiber-based displays is in the technology and stems mainly from simplifying the manufacturing process steps and reducing the number of steps by one half.  This simplification in the manufacturing process provides a 50% manufacturing cost savings over current display technologies.  Furthermore, the equipment to manufacture the fiber-based displays has a much lower cost basis and only requires 10% of the start-up capital of conventional displays ($40 million vs. $400 million+).

  The fiber-based technology can be used to make very large high-resolution displays and displays targeting many different markets.  Our technology uniquely positions us to become a major supplier and developer of large size specialty displays.  In addition, the manufacturing cost advantages of the fiber-based structure will position us to become a major contender in the developing, high volume, mandated digital HDTV market as both a producer of displays and licensor of technology.  Nupix’s fiber-based display technology offers advantages and capabilities that make it superior for applications in the following markets.

  Nupix has secured a NYSERDA contract and is presently focusing on large pixel reflective fiber-based displays.  By first targeting the Large Screen Information Display market, we will be able to carefully select those applications that will allow us to develop a business based on our developing capabilities.  It is our intent to use this selective niche and a strategic partnering approach to gain display engineering experience, to strengthen our manufacturing skills, and to confirm our cost assumptions.  While developing reflective displays, we will build revenue by supplying customers with specialty displays, such as high aspect ratio advertising and information displays.  Concurrently, we will develop prototype displays for the HDTV market.  The total assessable market for the fiber-based displays is projected to be greater than $16 billion in 5 years.
