Will of Eden Brown


Admin. of Wills: 1854, 13 April 1854 Eden Brown (Will) Book #2 page 342 of Wills Susquehanna County Courthouse In the matter of Probate of Will of Eden Brown, deceased. And now to Wit: December 28, 1859 E. S. Brown an instrument in Writing purporting to the last testament of Eden Brown of Lathrop, Township, County of Susquehanna, deceased, for probate and produced E. S. Brown and John Brown subscribing Witnesses to said instrument, who after being duly sworn according to law, say that they were present at the execution of and did see and hear the testator therein named, sign, seal, publish, pronounce and declare the said instrument as and for his testament and last Will and that at the time of his so doing he was of a sound disposing mind memory and understanding to the best of his observation and beleif. Whereupon said instrument or proper writing is admitted to probate as known to be the testament and last will of Eden Brown late of Lathrop in said County and is in the words following to Wit. I Eden Brown of the township of Lathrop in the County of Susquehanna and State of Pennsylvania being in good health of body and of sound and diposing mind and memory do make and declare this to be my last will and testament in manner and form following that is to day I order that all my just debts funeral expenses and charges of proving this my last will be fully paid and satisfied then I give and bequeath to my oldest son John C. Brown fifty dollars and to William Z. Brown fifty dollars to be paid out of any of my personal property, and the balance with my real estate shall be and remain for the sole use and benefit of Mary my wife so long as she shall remain my Widow with the right and privilege to dispose of the household furniture and wearing apparel as she shall see fit and if she shall remain unmarried at her decease my executors shall pay the expence consigned out of the property so left and the rest of my property wheather real or personal wheresoever and whatsoever I give and bequeath in equal parts to my executors their heirs and assigns for their own person use and I do hereby nominate and appoint John C. Brown and William Z. Brown executors of this my last will and testament hereby revoking all former Wills here tofore by me at anytime made and I declare this to be my last Will and testament. In Witness whereof I the testator have to this my last Will and testament have set my hand and affixed my seal this thirtieth day of April in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and fifty four.
