Will of William Squires
In the matter of the Probate of Will of William Squires deceased.
And now to wit May 20, A.D. 1865
An Instrument of writing purporting to be the last Will & Testament of William Squires late of the Township of Lathrop in said County deceased, was presented for Probate and at the same time personally appeared Justin M. Leland, R. C. Sylvius subsribing witness to the said instrument or paper writing, who being duly sworn accordint to law, doth say that they were present and saw and heard the said Wm. Squires signs, seal, publish, pronounce and declare the said instrument or paper writing as and for his Testament and last Will, and that at the time of his so doing he was of sound and disposing mind and memory to the best of their knowledge &belief, Whereupon the said, Instrument or paper writing was admitted to Probate as proven to be the last Will and Testament of William Squires, decesesd, and is in the words following to will:
Know all men by these present that I Wm Squires of Lathrop Township in the County of Susquehanna, and State of Pennsylvania, Farmer, Being of sound and disposing mindand memory, do make and publish this my last Will and Testament.
I give to my son John with what I have given him before twenty-five dollars,
2. I give to my son Reuben with what I have given him before five dollars.
3. I give to my daugthers Sarah, Lydia, and Susan with what I have given them before Fifty dollars each.
4. I give to my Daughter Louisa with what I have given her before, on hundred dollars.
5. I give to my daughter Mary with what I have given her before five dollars.
6. I give to my son Henry with what I have given him before one Hundred dollars.
7. I give and bequeath to my son Parley his heirs my real estate, and farming untensils,
I give and bequeath to my wife all my household furniture wearing apparel and all the rest of my present property for her own use during her lifetime, My wife is to have what house room she needs and in case she does not stay here she is to have one hundred dollars a year for her support and money necessary, after the decease of my wife all the residue and remainder of my personal property I give and bequeath to my sone Parley, The said Parley to pay all honest debts, funeral expenses and to erect suitable monuments,
I Wm Squires order in and appoint my two sons John and Parley as Executor of this my last Will and testament, hereby revoking all former Wills by me at any time made. In testimony whereof, I have hereinto set my hand and seal and publish and declare this to be my last Will and Testament in the presence of the witness named below, this 5, day of April, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and Sixty two.,
Signed sealed, published and declared by the said William Squires as and for his last Will and Testament in presence of us, who in his presence and the presence of each other, and at his request have herein subscribed our names as Witnesses, Wm Squires
