In Matter of Probate : December 16, 1929, was presented for Probate an instrument of Will of : of writing, purporting to be the last Will and Testament of W. E. W. E. Brown : Brown late of the Borough of HopBottom in said count, deceased, and Deceased : at the same time came Minnie O. Carpenter one of the subscribing ................................................. witnesses to the said instrument of writing, who, being duly sworn according to law, and the said instrument of writing exhibited to her did say that she was present on the date when said instrument of writing was executed, and saw and heard the said W. E. Brown sign Seal, publish, pronounce, and declare the said instru- ment of writing as and for his last Will and Testament, and at the time of his so doing he was of sound and disposing mind and memory to the best of her knowledge and belief; that she then and there, at the request of the Testator, and in his presence, signed her name to the same as a subscribing witness; that Jennie M. Chamberlin was also present, and deponent saw her sign her name to the same as a subscribing witness; and that the signatures appearing on said instrument of writing, (besides her own, which she recognizes) are the signatures of the said Testator, W. W. Brown, and of the said Jennie M. Chamberlin, in their own proper hand- writing, severally written by them as aforesaid. And on Dec. 20th 1929, came E. D. Carpenter who being duly sworn and said instrument of writing exhibited unto him did say that he was well acquainted with Jennie M. Chamberlin and with her handwriting and signature; that upon a careful examination of said Instrument of scribing witness is in her own proper handwriting and is her genuine signature; Jennie M. Chamberlin is now deceased. REGISTER'S OFFICE, Montrose, Pa. AND NOW Dec. 20th 1929 Proff having been made, as above, of the due execution of said instrument of writing by the said W. E. Brown, deceased, as and for his last Will and Testa- ment, it is Adjudged and Decreed that the said Instrument of Writing is fully proven to be the last Will and Testament of the said W. E. Brown deceased, and is hereby admitted to Pro- bate as such, and duly recorded according to law. F. W. Barrett, Register. SAID LAST WILL AND TESTAMENT IS AS FOLLOWS: Be it Remembered, that I, William E. Brown, of Hopbottom, Susquehanna County, Pennsyl- vania, being of sound and disposing mind, memory, and understanding, and considering the un- certainty of life, do therefore make, publish, and declare this to be my last will and testa- ment, in manner and form following, that is to say: 1. I give, devise and bequeath all my property, real, personal and mixed, to my wife, Mattie Brown, absolutely and forever. In case of the death of Mattie Brown before having become legally entitled to said property it shall ve evenly divided between my three children, Edna, Tracy and Eric Brown. 2. I hereby revoke all former wills made by me. 3. I appoint said Mattie Brown to be the executrix of this will; or in case of the death of Mattie Brown before fulfilling the duties required I appoint Edna, Tracy and Eric, joint executors of this will. It is requested that no bond be required as security as executor. In witness whereof, I have herunto subscribed my name and affixed my seal the First day of October A.D. 1923. Dated Oct. 1, A.D. 1923 W. E. BROWN L.S. Signed, sealed, published and declared by the testator above named, as and for his last will and testament, in the presence of us, who have hereunto, at his request, subscribed our names in his presence, and in the presence of each other as witness here to. Minnie O. Carpenter residing at HopBottom, Pa. Jennie M. Chamberlin residing at Scranton, Pa.


In the Estate : December 20, 1929, Letters Testamentary in the estate of W. E. of : Brown, late of the Borough of HopBottom, deceased, were in due form of W. E. Brown : law granted unto Mattie M. Brown, she being duly sworn well and truly to Deceased : administer the goods and chattels, rights and credits of said deceased Mattie M. Brown : accordint to law. Executor : Affidavit filed fixing date of death: December 2, 1929. .................................................
