Pictures

I would never call myself a photographer, but I have enjoyed taking pictures for years. Most of the pictures that I take are local landscapes but I have a variety of other good pictures too.

My main camera is a Nikon N60 with a couple of lenses and a few filters. I also use an Olympus Stylus Epic which I have most of the time since it fits in a pocket. It's a toss-up over which one takes the better picture. They are both excellent cameras.

One day soon, I plan on getting a decent digital camera. For now the 35mm format will have to do.

This site goes on for page after page. Everything is covered, lenses, tripods, film, techniques, what camera to buy and where to buy it. You can spend hours here.

Don Cherry's

There is a place in Rochester NY called Rorbach's. It's a micro-brewery where the beer is great and they have the best onion rings that I have ever eaten.

In the men's room they have pictures of men's rooms from many notable (and not so notable) places in Rochester. This is actually more interesting than it sounds.

This is what inspired this picture of the men's room in Don Cherry's Restaurant in Whitby Ontario. It's better than any of the pictures at Rorbach's.

 

Lake Erie Waterfront

I don't know if anyone really goes to Erie, Pennsylvania but I had reason to one summer night. I had a pretty good dinner at this pier and then spent some time with a lady friend walking around looking at the boats.

I like this picture of that evening.

Sunset on Route 17

Sunsets and roadways make interesting photos. This one was taken from a bridge over Route 17 near Fremont, NY. It's too bad that the moonrise doesnt' show up better on the web. Actually, now that I think about it, it's not a sunset, it's a moonrise. I'll have to change that.

Country sunset

This photo was taken from near one of my favorite deer watching spots on 'Bush Hill' near Canisteo, NY.

Stormy sunset

This picture was taken at the same spot as the picture above it.

The weather was a little different on this evening. There isn't much colorful about this photo, but I like it.
